Why I built this
Because I think gift giving should be thoughtful, not stressful.
Every year, billions of pounds worth of unwanted gifts end up in landfill. People buy things out of obligation, without knowing what the recipient actually wants. The result is wasted money, wasted resources, and gifts that nobody needed.
I'm not against buying things. I love a good purchase as much as anyone. But I do think we can be smarter about it.
Giflit is my small attempt to shift things slightly. If people buy gifts that are actually wanted, they tend to be better quality, more considered, and less wasteful. A wishlist isn't a demand — it's a guide.
It's free because it should be. No subscription, no ads, no data selling. Just a useful tool, made by one person, because they thought it was a good idea. For full transparency, I make money by using affiliate links — when someone purchases something by linking from Giflit, I get a tiny amount of that purchase.
